What is PC-Skills?

We are a team of IT e-learning specialists. Our team consists of professional tutors, web programming specialists and experienced teachers, all of which are accustomed to developing online learning solutions.

You access the lessons online, from any computer provided it has an internet connection and a web browser (Edge®, Chrome®, Firefox® or Safari®).

No, PC-Skills.brussels provides a learning platform, which is entirely online. No software installation is necessary. Thanks to Cloud technology, you will log into remote servers hosting the application you would like to learn to use.

Therefore, the only thing you need is an internet connection and a web browser (Edge®, Chrome®, Mozilla® or Safari®).

The PC-Skills.brussels platform is only available from a PC or Mac®. It is not recommended to learn to use an office application from a smartphone or tablet.

The online learning platform is available all year, 7 days a week and 24 hours a day.

It is possible to sign up to the PC-Skills.brussels platform any time, any day, all year round. Once signed up, the PC-Skills.brussels platform is accessible 24 hours a day and 7 days a week for a period of 12 months.

You do not need to sign up more than once, a single enrolment will enable you to access the six applications available on the platform: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams and Access. However, you must take a placement test in order assess your proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

It is not possible to download or print the lesson content at your disposal except for digital books, which can be printed page per page. You can also print your result sheets, which are available in your training portal, or download them in PDF.

First, visit the www.PC-Skills.brussels website, which holds a great deal of information about the platform. There is FAQ (frequently asked questions) section, which may answer your questions. It is also possible to contact the tech support via email at support@PC-Skills.brussels.

PC-Skills.brussels is available in three languages: English, French and Dutch.

PC-Skills.brussels offers courses for six apps: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams and Access.

Yes. Once connected to the platform, you simply need to take the placement test corresponding to the application you would like study. When you have completed the test, you can access the corresponding course for your level. Concerning Teams, Access and Outlook, the courses are organised by theme and not by proficiency level.

You can access the placement tests once you have activated your account, using the link sent to you by email. Each test last about 15 minutes. You will then immediately be able to access a course adapted to your proficiency level for the corresponding application.

PC-Skills.brussels offers two training stages (Mastering the basics and Advanced features) for the Excel, Word and PowerPoint applications, and a course organised by theme for the Access, Teams and Outlook applications. Each course comprises modules, which are divided into sub-modules containing topics. Each topic covers a specific feature of the studied application. PC-Skills.brussels also offers a comprehensive digital book with a search engine making it possible to quickly reach the sought information.

An online course with PC-Skills.brussels is available every day at any time. The course can be pursued from any computer and it is not necessary to install the Office suite. The assigned training programme is adapted to your level, which was assessed by the placement test. All the courses are entirely available on the platform: you can choose to view basic lessons in order to revise basic skills or advanced lessons to go further.

Your course starts with a video lesson, which has an audio commentary and subtitles. You are then asked to carry out an exercise, directly within the studied application. When you have performed the exercise, you can watch the solution, which is also a video with audio commentary and subtitles.

The learning platform’s real advantage is the fact that you carry out practical exercises directly within the studied application. The learning method is particularly reliable as it is not a simulation.

All the software’s features are taken into account and the learner can choose any method to carry out the exercise: using the right-click, a keyboard shortcut, the menu, a tool…

It is best to schedule regular sessions of 1 to 2 hours maximum (for example each Tuesday and Thursday). It is also important to be receptive during the session, in order to better focus. Broadly speaking, your progress will be mirror your commitment.

PC-Skills.brussels offers two stages for Excel, Word and PowerPoint:

  • Mastering the basics
  • Advanced features
Concerning Access, Teams and Outlook, the courses are organised by theme.

For the Excel, Word and PowerPoint applications, your learning process starts with a placement test in order to find the course that best suits you. The PC-Skills.brussels placement test is a declarative test, which is quick and relevant, and will give you access to the appropriate course according to your proficiency.
